I know that I won't always be able to have ALL of my children with me on Mother's Day, but it was nice to have 3 of the 4! Christopher did try to call me right after church, but I had put my phone on vibrate for the movie last night and didn't hear it when he called!
When I woke up this morning and went to get the milk for my raisin bran, I saw this in the fridge:
I had never gotten a corsage for Mother's Day, so I was very excited. It turned out to be two of the prettiest AND biggest roses ever, so it kept pulling my shirt down! Nancy finally fixed it for me at church so I could at least enjoy it for the day.
On Friday, these came in the mail:
The calligraphy one is from Geno and the Storybook one is from Christopher and his family. Brian is going to order me one, too. I just have to pick out which one. I have discovered www.cricutmachine.com. It has sales on cartridges all the time and you can get some of them for as little as $30 each! Now my collection looks like this:
Both Derrick and Mark were very thoughtful in their gifts, too. Derrick got me the corsage, a Make-A-Wish cookie from Zaxby's (where he works) and a new can opener since I am always getting mad at the old one we have! Mark got me a Sonic gift card. I come from a family of enablers! They certainly help to support my addiction to Sonic Rt. 44 Diet Cokes ;o)
We are topping off the day with Hawaiian Haystacks and Strawberry Shortcake.

Both Geno and I were able to talk to our mothers. I had mentioned before about my Uncle Jimmie. Mom has been down in Florida taking care of him. When I called, she was crying and asked for a minute to compose herself. We had talked yesterday and she told me that Jimmie had fallen and broken his nose. With his platelets so low, they couldn't stop the bleeding, so he had to go to the emergency room. They were giving him blood to try to help, but his nose is packed and he is having trouble breathing. She knew that it was a possibility that he could have a heart attack since his heart is working overtime to pump the oxygen through the blood. His heart was beating really fast and the medical staff was tending to him. After we talked a bit, I heard her ask if he was ok and she then said, Oh no!, started crying again and then said she needed to go. I know that his quality of life is really bad right now and that it would be a relief for him, but my heart goes out to my mom. Happy Mother's Day, Mom.
