Late Happy Birthday to Geno

Geno turned 34 on Thursday!
Here he is blowing out the candles. He had a pretty normal day with work and all, but then we went out to eat at Doe's Eat Place. Now, I'm not much on red meat to begin with, so I thought I would just have chicken. No dice. No chicken is served at this place. I did enjoy the tamales for which they are world famous. Since the steaks there are sold by the pound and there is a 2 pound minimum on the one Geno wanted, we split the meal. I wanted him to have a good birthday meal, after all! After we paid the bill, we vowed that this was our one and only trip to this place-it was good, but not good enough to justify the price. We headed off to Sam's Club to pick out his cake or dessert or whatever he wanted. I had offered to make him a cake, but he just wanted to see what Sam's had to offer. I normally would have been insulted, but I had been running around all day! (I picked the blackberries in the morning. Drove around to SEVERAL places trying to find Geno a pair of size 13 Crocs. Picked up Popeye's for a lunch Geno had with a friend and the missionaries. Cleaned up the house and myself for dinner) Geno chose a white cake with buttercream frosting. We went to the Davis' for cake and gifts.

Nancy baked Geno some fresh bread and they gave that to him along with a bucket of whipped honey. They brought some along on our trip to Winter Quarters, NE last weekend (blog to come) and Geno LOVED it. This was the perfect gift for him.

I was only able to find a size 13 Croc in this blue color. I thought it probably wouldn't be a color that he would choose, but I wanted him to have something to open and then we could look around a little more for a new color. Turns out that for over two years now he has been telling people that he wants these and that I won't let him have them, but he really didn't want them! I didn't say that he couldn't have them, but a size 13 sort of does look like a big Bozo shoe. I guess that he wanted to bust my chops more than he really wanted a pair of these shoes, so we took them back on Friday.

Happy Late B-day to Geno!!!

Hey, at least the big blue crocs aren't as bad as Eric's big yellow ones.
