That is Local Scrapbook Store for you non-scrapbookers! I found it interesting that Creating Keepsakes' weekly newsletter included an article about supporting your LSS, since I had heard recently that the store in Russellville, AR was closing. I got on the blog for that store and it has already closed! It was a really nice store and Melissa Blair priced her products lower than the actual suggested retail price, but she still didn't make it. She is also an amazing scrapbooker who is published all the time in major magazines, so her classes were always well worth the money. When I was working as a sales rep for scrapbook products, it amazed me how few stores can actually make it! There are only a handful of larger stores that have been around for the 10 years that I have lived in Arkansas-Paper Moon in Jonesboro, Scrapbook Corner in Little Rock, Signed*Sealed*Delivered in Bentonville, Scrapbook Patch in White Hall and Scrapbook Attic in Searcy. There are many, many others that have come and gone just in the time that I have lived here.
I love a bargain just as much as the next person, but part of the "hometown" appeal to any city is the local "mom&pop" stores mixed in with the big chain stores like Hobby Lobby! I am just as guilty of using my 40% off coupon each time one comes out, but I also make sure to support my local store, too. Signed*Sealed*Delivered offers crops and sales and newer product that you just can't get at Hobby Lobby-and they know me by name. They know that we have planned to move to Washington DC twice. They know what kind of products I like. I have warned them when the price of flour was about to go up so that they could stock up. I don't quite get the same welcome that Norm does when he walks into Cheers, but they say Hi to me every time.

I remember when I first moved here and their scrapbook section was just a few racks with paper and a couple of embellishments that was a part of their gifts/floral/invitation business. After seeing the large demand for scrapbooking, they eventually set up an entire room with product. When the store next to them went out of business, they added an entry to a crop room with paper racks all the way around the room. Now they are in their own building and going strong! I would like to keep them around, so I guess that I must do my duty and spend some money there every couple of weeks ;o)

That is sad about the Russellville store, I would always go there when I was visiting my parents! Are you still a rep?
Your son, Brian, gave an awesome talk on Sunday in our ward! I was just so impressed with him...He is a great example to all of the future missionaries!
Thanks for the shout out for SSD! I'll make sure to give you a hearty NORM! welcome next time I see you there!
And yes, it's sad to hear about the Russellville store. Many have gone out of business, and it makes us even more grateful for what we have there. Thanks for your loyalty!
