Somebody Save Me!

I know! I know!
It's crazy!
I just can't seem to get rid of those little scraps of paper from my scrapbook room. I was getting ready for the Winter Blues Scrapbook Marathon last weekend, and I was cleaning out the old page packs that I had put together for just about every crop I went to last year. I had already completed the pages, but I hadn't emptied out the scraps, papers, and embellishments that I decided not to use. I couldn't believe how many scraps I had. They didn't even fit in my accordian file for scraps anymore. I also had inherited the scraps from my friend, Alannah, when we cleaned out her scrapbook room, because I just can't see them go to waste. There are many, many potential die cuts from those scraps!
So, I come up with this idea to have a Punch Party. Basically, I was recruiting my own little group of enablers. They come and use my scraps and I continue to justify keeping all of those little scraps. So, I invited some people over. Then I set out my punches and borrowed Alannah's Quickutz, Revolution, and her MANY alphabets and dies to go with them. Another friend brought her Sizzix and dies.
I put out all of my scraps-one of which was a piece of glitter paper I had won at an SSD crop. Well, they all loved this one, so I went and got out the rest of the package which was EVERY color of glitter paper in this line. I am just not a glittery person, so I never knew what I would use it for. I did make the cutest shoe out of it for my friend for Valentine's Day and I am making another one for another friend but that was about it. Once the ladies started punching, I got an idea to use the purple, turquoise, and blue as snowflakes. I punched out a few for myself. The problem here was that these papers weren't even in my scrap pile and this is what the ladies were using the most of! They weren't helping me get rid of much of my scraps at all. Not to mention that they also were making felt paper dolls with the Sizzix, so I got out my HUGE box of felt for that (also not in my scrap pile!)
It was a lot of fun to get to visit with my friends, though, so I'm sure that we will do this again.
So, they leave and I start to clean up the scraps...
I can't believe it! These ladies are just not seasoned "punchers"! There are all kinds of pieces of that glitter paper that will work for the smaller flowers! Just look at those edges and in between those larger flowers! So...
I start to punch flowers.
And I punch more flowers.
Then when I am sleeping, I think about how cute some small Easter Egg punches would look on a 6x6 page or a card.
So I start to punch eggs.
And I punch more eggs.
Then I see that there are still some pieces left on there that maybe I can get another punch and use.
So I start to punch hearts.
And I punch more hearts.
You get the picture!

This was taken only in the beginning. Now I ask you...How cute are those little eggs???

Anyone need any glittery eggs, flowers or hearts?? HELP!

Shelly,
What a great idea to get the most out of your scraps! I am all about having things available at the moment that I need them. The glitter paper is great! Have a great day!
