I love ribbon. I love pretty much any embellishments I can add to my scrapbook pages. I sometimes like to add some glitter and REALLY like all of the flower embellishments that are out there. The problem is that until 12/27/2009 I had to either make scrapbook pages with me and my girlfriends, make crafts that use ribbon, or come up with ways to incorporate "girly" accents into boy pages. I did find a few ways to accomplish that ;o)
Finally, I have a little granddaughter! Now I want to learn to make those cute hair bows that are sold at all of the craft shows...especially the curly ones!
When I needed a piece of ribbon for yesterday's photo block, I had to look through this:
And, when I finally found what I wanted to use, it was all wrinkled! I loved having all of my ribbon showing and how it added a splash of color to my scrapbook room, but I felt last night that it was time for a change! (Geno turned on the Arkansas basketball game, so that was my cue that I could head up to my scrapbook room for a bit and turn on a Lifetime movie.) Since I am working toward earning for Geno's treatment, I don't want to change anything right now that requires spending money. The Creating Keepsakes Blog was all about organization this past week, and there were some really great ideas. I decided on this:
All I needed were some 3" rings (check) and some place to hang them. I thought about a cute shelf with hooks, but that would require a purchase. Then I noticed that my organizer for punches which hangs over the closet door has 3 hooks at the bottom. It is for adding another punch organizer, but I won't be buying more punches since I own a Cricut! So, instead of taking up shelf space with jars of ribbon, I can hang them from those hooks and cover up plain old door space! This makes it so much easier to see what I actually have.
Besides, those canning jars should be filled with yummy things I make this summer :o)
And, I found plenty of grossgrain ribbon to make those curly bows for Braylee!
You can still see how some of the hanging ribbon is wrinkled from being crammed into the jars. No problem! I have this adorable little ribbon iron to take care of that:
