August 2010 we traveled down to Panama City Beach, FL for the Military World Softball Tournament. Since Geno supports the DOD at Gunter AFB, he was able to be on the team with a waiver. This was Geno's first time to actually go in the ocean, and I was glad to get to share that with him! Our hotel was right on the beach, so we checked in and headed right out. Several of the families were meeting for dinner, but we were enjoying just hanging out on the beach and listening to the sounds of the ocean. The sunset was so beautiful!
Geno's first game was actually a forfeit, so their first game was Saturday morning. It was so incredibly hot and humid! I felt a need to get some pictures of Geno this time...had no idea this would actually be his last summer to be able to play sports :o(
The view from our hotel room:
After a little dip in the ocean:
We did not have these smiles on our faces when we went back to the hotel room to shower for dinner! I took my bathing suit off and it looked like I was still wearing one-made of seaweed!! Gross!

Since his team didn't have much luck in the tournament, we spent the drizzly afternoon checking out the stores in Pier Park. Geno tested out the Birthday Cake ice cream at two local shops in his quest to find the perfect one.
I love to have my feet in the sand! Don't care for it anywhere else, though!
