One of my Project 101 goals was to walk in a Race for the Cure. My friend, Sarah, decided that she was going to walk and asked if I would like to join her. I signed up and then Geno decided that he would like to walk, too. Apparently, there are several men who participate:
I thought their team name was too funny not to take a picture!
However, they weren't nearly as funny as the Brides for the Cure. I saw several ladies with veils and wondered what that was about. I had no idea that I would see a man in a veil...and a dress!!
There were several different teams and it was fun to read their shirts. This was one of my favorites:
However, my most favorite moment of the entire walk was when we were about 2/3 of the way done and we came upon this elderly gentleman who looked to be about 80 years old. He was moving along-slowly but steadily wearing a sign on his back that read: "In Memory of my wife who lost her life to cancer."
I felt very strongly about participating, and now I know why!
I am so glad that Sarah is my friend and that she invited me to walk with her!
It was fun to share the morning with Geno and Mark, too-even though Mark decided to run and finished in less than half of the time that we did!!
Hey! What is the deal with those matching haircuts?

I wish I would have joined you! We saw everyone walking on our way out to pick up my Mom and I looked for you two. Hugs!
